What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger

I will tribute this post to American Idol Season 11's finalist who was eliminated yesterday, Han Heejun.

Heejun is a Korean guy and he is an extremely funny guy. Everything he does make me laugh. And he's not only funny, he has talent as well. He has such a journey on American Idol, especially the last 3 weeks before his elimination.

He auditioned with Michael Bolton's How Am I Supposed To Live Without You. He brought Jennifer Lopez to tears and earned the golden tickets.

He performed some more songs and made it to the Top 13. And the drama starts here.
At the Top 11 week, he performed Right Here Waiting by Richard Marx. But it didn't really work with his voice.

Disappointed by his performance, he decided to break out and performed My Life by Billy Joel the following week. It was very entertaining for me, but not for the judges, especially Steven Tyler. He stated that Heejun seemed not serious about the whole competition. It's true that his vocal is a mess though. And he ended up in the Bottom 2 with Erica Van Pelt who was going home that night.

Receiving such a harsh comment from Steven Tyler made Heejun realized that he has made many people down. With "I can no more let anyone down" in mind, Heejun brought us such a beautiful performance, which brought the judges to give him a standing ovation. He performed Donny Hathaway's A Song for You and the judges happily said: "Finally the Heejun we selected came back to us tonight!"

However, he was in the Bottom 3 with Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine. It was revealed later that he received the lowest numbers of vote. He left after he did such a beautiful performance.

It's funny how he stayed when he did a terrible job, but he went home when he did a great job. However to me, it seems like everything that happened for the last 3 weeks makes him strong to receive the fact that he was eliminated from the show.

First, he was disappointed by his performance. It makes him thought that he wanted to show something different, to show the world who he really is. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out really well. You can say that it was the worst point of his journey on American Idol. However, the one who make him realized was that worst point. I believe that "that worse point" is the one that makes him able to do such a beautiful performance in the last song he performed.

It's true that he went home in the end, BUT if he left at his worst point, what do you think will happen to him? What will happen to you if you're in his position? But God gave him one more chance. And when he used that chance wisely, even though he went home, he went home with a relieved feeling. Those kind of feelings that said: I did my best. I even received a standing ovation.

He went home with pride, not shame. I believe everything that happened in his journey on American Idol Season 11 is a lesson for him and for all of us. Just like his favorite quotes, "All For God, All By God."

Talking about this makes me remember American Idol Season 1's winner Kelly Clarkson's song titled Stronger.

Anyway, I wish all the best for Han Heejun, since this is not the end for him. It's a new beginning. He said on his twitter that he's going to try out for America's Next Top Model (lol). Well that's not the new beginning that I'm talking about, but well.. He's Han Heejun after all. You can browse his twitter @HHanAI11 to see that funny side of him. You'll love it.

And for the bonus:
